How to Apply

According to the Guidelines for Credit Programs at CCU, students who wish to enroll in the Applied Languages Studies Certificate Program must apply through the program office (located on the 2nd Floor of the Center for Language Studies) in accordance with the program’s regulations.

Eligibility

  1. All regularly enrolled students at the university—including those in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs—are eligible to apply for this certificate program.
  2. Undergraduate students must complete 4 General English credits before applying.
    **Undergraduate students who enroll in the program during their extended period of study must pay tuition in accordance with Article 14-1 of the University Academic Regulations.

Application Procedure

  1. Submit a hard copy during office hours: Please compile all required documents into a single bound set and submit them at once.
  2. Bring the original copy of Standardized English proficiency certificate for verification when submitting hard copy documents.

Application Dates

First Application Round: April 21 (Monday) – May 16 (Friday), 2025
The program accepts applications every semester. Please check the application period and prepare all required documents accordingly.

Second Application Round: TBA
Applicants who are not accepted in the first round are encouraged to consult with instructors individually after the results are announced, and bring their materials for feedback and revision.
Consultation sessions will be available for reservation after the selection results are announced (please refer to the notification email for details).
*Electronic submissions will be accepted during winter and summer break.


Document Submission Instructions

Submit the following documents as a bound set to the program office before the application deadline.
For the second application round, and in consideration of the winter/summer break, electronic submissions will be permitted (Email to clcta[a]ccu.edu.tw).

1 Application Form and Study Plan for the Applied Language Studies Certificate Program
(Download available during application period docx | odt) (Update on June, 2024)
Download the latest file and fill it out in the required format.
For electronic submissions, the application form must be signed by hand (typed signatures are not accepted).
2 Valid English proficiency certificate (within 3 years) A copy of English proficiency certificate issued within the past three years (dated after November 1, 2021)
Bring the original certificate for verification when submitting your application. The original will be returned after verification.
For electronic submissions, the scanned file must include the QR code below the photo.
3 Original copy of official transcript
(Second-round applicants are required to submit their most recent official transcript, which must include grades from Spring 2024, i.e., 112-2)
Please request your transcript directly from the Office of Academic Affairs.
4 Proof of enrollment in a second major, minor, or other certificate programs (not required if not applicable) Submit the program requirements from your year of acceptance and highlight relevant courses on your transcript (second major, minor, or other programs).

Upon Approval: Applicants are responsible for checking announcements from the center and their personal notifications.

  1. Application results will be individually notified via email. Accepted applicants must submit the "Course Enrollment Confirmation Form" within the specified deadline.
  2. Failure to submit the confirmation form by the deadline will be regarded as a forfeiture of admission to the Applied Language Studies Certificate Program, and enrollment in program courses will not be permitted.
  3. Applicants are responsible for providing an accurate email address during the application process. In the event that the notification email is not received, it is the applicant’s responsibility to contact the Language Center proactively.

Selected applicants will be admitted to the program in the following semester and must follow the program’s course selection guidelines.
