本校學生於預賽期間，登入網路競賽系統即可參賽
預賽採「限時線上闖關」制：需通過每一關規定之門檻分數後，才得以取得晉級下一關卡之權限、繼續挑戰。每關滿分皆為100分，過關分數如下所列：
預賽第1關：過關分數60分（英文單字難度為CEFR A2-B1）
預賽第2關：過關分數60分（英文單字難度為CEFR B1-B2）
預賽第3關：過關分數60分（英文單字難度為CEFR B1-B2）
預賽第4關：過關分數60分（英文單字難度為CEFR B2-C1）
主辦單位將於5/24(二)email通知報名團隊是否符合決賽晉級資格。
取得決賽資格：3名團隊成員中，在預賽結束前，需至少1位通過英文單字預賽的第4關，其他2位至少通過英文單字預賽第3關。
由預賽參與者達到「決賽晉級資格」者，3人組隊參加

1. 現場決賽與18:15開始，參賽團隊需於決賽當日18:10前於語言中心完成報到
2. 兩階段進行
1) 線上系統積分賽：團隊總分前4名之隊伍得晉級至次輪比賽
2) 團隊PK賽：由PK團隊輪流選號，以口語拼讀或現場答題方式。題型多元包含Listen and Spell、Definition、Word in Context & Prefix/Suffix/Roots等。
3. 詳細競賽流程與答題方式將於現場決賽前每一階段前說明。
The University Word List (UWL) is a list of vocabulary items common in academic texts. It is composed of 808 words, divided into 11 levels. This list is designed to be a list of specialized vocabulary for students who know about 2,000 generally common words and plan to study in an English-language college or university.
Averil Coxhead developed and evaluated The Academic Word List (AWL) for her MA thesis. This list is a very useful resource for English for Academic Purposes teachers and learners.

“Vocabulary is central to English language teaching because without sufficient vocabulary students cannot understand others or express their own ideas. Wilkins (1972) wrote that “. . . while without grammar very little can be conveyed, without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed” (pp. 111–112).” (p. 2)
單字是英文教學的核心因為缺乏足夠的單字力，學生無法理解他人或無法表達自己的想法。Wilkins (1972)曾經寫過的名言「雖然沒有文法能表達內容的有限，但是沒有單字就什麼都無法表達了。」
A leading linguist researcher Paul Nation notes: “Vocabulary is not an end in itself. A rich vocabulary makes the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing easier to perform.” (Nation, 1994)
全球知名的語言學家Nation曾說過：單字本身不是學習目的，豐富的單字力可以成就更好的英文聽說讀寫的技能。
